If you made a short list of franchises likely to appear in Nintendo Land, Metroid would definitely be on the list. Today at Nintendo's Wii U event, it announced the "Metroid Blast" mini-game to trade on the popular series.

Like other Nintendo Land games, Metroid Blast has asynchronous multiplayer, but unlike some others it's a co-op experience. We saw one Mii (dressed as Samus) on the ground, assisted by another firing from the air in Samus' ship. The mini-game is also available as a single-player game, which lets you choose between the air or ground unit.

Also mentioned for Nintendo Land was Pikmin Adventure and Balloon Trip Breeze. Check everything out in the trailer below:

Super Metroid HD remake, with repainted sprites and updated (but faithful) music. Make this and you'll sell me a Wii-U

Through in an HD Metroid Prime like game too with Game pad scanning features and I will die a happy man.

Why would you remake a timeless classic whose graphics still hold up? Id like a true 2D or 2.5D Metroid.

Why would I change what I want just because someone asked why it would be done? That's just what I want.
