Rhythm Thief heading to iOS
by Steve Watts, Sep 07, 2012 9:00pm PDTRhythm Thief & The Emperor's Treasure is heading to another handheld device. Sega's hip rhythm-puzzle hybrid has surfaced on the company's Japanese site, promising the game will hit iOS devices in the region sometime this winter.
The site (via Eurogamer) also mentions in-app purchases. It's unclear if that means extra tracks, selling chapters like recent Capcom iOS ports, or something else entirely. Rhythm Thief flew under the radar for the most part, but enjoyed a generally positive critical reception. Reviewers noted the variety of mini-games, good music, and fun characters as high points.
This announcement is only in Japan right now, but Sega has been pretty active in the mobile market in North America as well. Shacknews has contacted Sega about a possible US announcement, and will update as more information becomes available.
