Along with adding another two continents to the world of Telara, Storm Legion boosts the level cap by 10, adds four Souls to tinker with classes, gives players and guilds customisable housing, and of course brings monsters and items and mounts and pets and all that jazz. It's an MMO expansion.

You can pre-order Storm Legion now for $40 to score early access to its 'Exodus of the Storm Queen' dungeon and a bonus in-game cape, or pay $70 extra for the Infinity edition to get an extra mount, pet and personal teleporter too. If you don't already own the base game, you can pay an extra $10 to get that thrown in too.

Trion Worlds released new Storm Legion screenshots and this trailer today too:

Alice O'Connor posted a new article, Rift: Storm Legion thundering out in September.

Looks awesome. Maybe I'll actually get one of my dudes to 50 by the time it's out.

I had fun playing this a long time ago ( pre 1.4? maybe). Went back a few months ago for free weekend and I was so left behind and confused. My lvl 50s that were maxed out were pretty much useless. I'm glad the game evolved but with the amount of people playing the market for crafting/weapons/armors was way way way out of my price range due to economy of the long timers. It really kinda screws the newbie or old folks returning. Wouldn't let me do LFG for dungeons because my gear sucked. I found chronicles to be boring after the first time, I couldn't see myself repeating it 50+ times for RNG upgrade armor. Really had nothing to do but re-roll. Meh.

I want to play again, but I'm too far left behind in the game. Its not really anyones fault I was just gone too long from the game.

I imagine that like in WoW, when the expansion hits...all that will go away. All the level 50 shit will be irrelevant as you move towards 60 and that's the new endgame.

        I could be wrong though.

It's actually really easy to get geared in Rift, a fresh level 50 can be raid ready in a week or two. Run some Instant Adventures to get shards and planarite and then go to the Planarite vendors in the 3 end zones and bu the set there, toss a few +hit runes on or Spellpower/toughness depending on your role and you have enough to queue for hard mode dungeons, run them for a few nights for drops and tokens to buy a higher quality set and you can have enough gear to start raiding.

Rift actually broke me of my World of Warcraft habit, but I have been out of the game for awhile. It will be interesting to see the changes.

Yea, Rift made me quit wow (again), and I haven't been back since. I think I've lost a lot of my interest in MMOs in general. I really miss the people a lot. It was a great way to talk and interact with a lot of new people.

This is the coolest MMO that I don't play anymore. I hope it does well. :)
