Shack PSA: Skyrim's Hearthfire now available on 360
by Steve Watts, Sep 04, 2012 10:00am PDTYou might be the Dragonborn, or the leader of the Assassin's Guild, or the Arch-Mage of Winterhold--or even all of the above--but what's supreme power without a place to put your feet up? The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim has launched its Hearthfire downloadable content on Xbox 360, giving you a more customizable place to call your home. It's available today.
You can spend your vast wealth on land, a large house, outfit it with amenities like a full kitchen, wine cellar, or armory, and get a steward to take care of the place. In other words, you can make Skyrim Batman. You can even adopt some kids, if you want the pitter-patter of little virtual feet. It costs $5 (400 MSP).
If you're on PC, you'll probably have to wait about a month for Hearthfire. You could use a similar mod in the meantime, but it won't let you adopt kids. (Ed's note: Unless you have this mod!) On the PlayStation 3, your wait may be significantly longer if the Dawnguard DLC is any indication. Bethesda has assured fans that Hearthfire isn't the reason behind the PS3 Dawnguard delay, but acknowledged that it's not positive it can resolve the issues of putting the DLC on the platform.
