Marvel vs. Capcom Origins hits in September

Capcom is treating nostalgianoids to a double-bill of ye olde fightinge games next month, announcing today that Marvel vs. Capcom Origins will arrive for download on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on September 25 and 26 respectively. $15 will get you tarted-up versions of the classic Marvel Super Heroes and Marvel vs. Capcom: Clash of Super Heroes, which seems fair for an afternoon of reliving your youth before the terrible realisation that you are so very old sinks in.

The two are updated in much the same way as other recent Capcom fight 'em up revamps. Online multiplayer is powered by the GGPO netcode and comes complete with lobbies and a spectator mode; dynamic challenges track performance; replays are saveable; and you can choose between several graphical filters which make the game look worse. Here's a few new screenshots:

I think I would have rather had X-men vs Street Fighter over Marvel vs Capcom IMO.

Perhaps I'm one of the few left that still likes pixels. Then again, I also like looking at how imperfect all those newscasters look now in HD.
