Capcom showed off a nice healthy chunk of Lost Planet 3 at Gamescom 2012, but like 99% of the game enthusiast crowd, you probably weren't there. Luckily, the company has released footage from the event, giving us a full 15 minutes of story content, shooting giant bugs, and mech action.

The walkthrough is narrated by producer Andrew Szymanski and Kenji Oguro, and runs the gamut of gameplay types. Check out the video below. The game is due in early 2013.

This is NOT a Lost planet game. They copied a bunch of things from other games, and removed the action completely.

Is this going to be the one that's good?

I'm actually a bit disappointed by the hate this game is getting - it's maybe a bit cliche and doesn't seem to have any enormously innovative gameplay features, but it looks like solid fun to me regardless. Maybe I'm just biased because of my love for giant robots though - I kinda like the whole "solitary guy with a mech" thing and thought the giant robot melee battle they showed in this teaser looked really awesome - I'm gonna get this game just on that basis.

I AM disappointed by the lack of coop though - that was the best part of LP2.
