PSOne Classics now live on Vita
by Steve Watts, Aug 28, 2012 8:15am PDTIt's a bit odd that the PlayStation Vita didn't include PSOne Classics support from the start, but better late than never. The 1.8 update has gone live, including a handful of usability revisions alongside the new (old) games. Sony has only officially released a handful of them on the store, but apparently many more are available through a PlayStation 3 workaround.
The PlayStation Blog includes a brief walkthrough video of the new features. They include cursor control, back-touch for scrolling, selectable playback speed in videos, revisions for maps, notifications settings, and the cross-controller feature to work on concert with the PlayStation 3.
It also details the nine current PSOne Classics that are officially available, including Arc the Lad, Cool Boarders 2, Final Fantasy VII, Hot Shots Golf 2, Jet Moto, Syphon Filter, Tomb Raider, Twisted Metal 2, and Wild Arms. But Joystiq reports that many more can be loaded onto your Vita by downloading them on the PlayStation 3 first. Check out the full list below:
