Shank dev opens beta for next game, Don't Starve
by Steve Watts, Aug 27, 2012 2:30pm PDTKlei Entertainment, the studio behind the Shank series, has just taken the wraps off its next game. Don't Starve is a browser-based game aiming to release as a stand-alone title, provided it garners interest. The game stars Wilson, a scientist trapped in the wilderness by a demon. You know, that old story again. You have to pay your way into the survival/exploration title, but you get some fringe benefits.
According to the Don't Starve site, a $6.99 beta purchase gets you two copies of the game, the full game for free on Steam once it releases, regular updates, and access to the developers to "help evolve the game." If you want to get a taste of it without ponying up seven big ones, you can try it out at PAX this weekend.
