I Am Alive, Ubisoft's post-apocalyptic adventure title, has been available on consoles since April. That's a bigger console lead time than most (even by Ubisoft standards) but the game is finally ready to come to PCs on September 13. It will be coming with a few enhancements, at least.

The company announced today that the upcoming PC version will include higher resolution output, an "Easy" mode for infinite retries and a smoother introduction, and a "Replay" mode to revisit areas and find hidden objects. It will be available for $14.99. If you pre-order the game, you'll also get Bloody Good Time.

The game got a mixed reception, praised more for its interesting ideas and moody setting than gameplay mechanics.

Can't wait for another mediocre Ubisoft port! Seriously these guys have got to know they are jokes on the PC right?

Ubisoft makes mostly solid games, and, DRM aside, their ports tend to be solid too. I don't love Ubi's DRM or their attitude either, but it's hilarious to watch PC gamers whine and scream and play the victim every time someone calls them out on their parasitic behavior and massive sense of entitlement.

Apparently to PC gamers, it's not enough anymore to simply not pay one penny for their games, now developers have to suck PC gamers dicks and tell them what wonderful people they are, too.

Maybe people are just sick of publishers/developers always blaming "low" sales on piracy. Because some dev houses don't bitch and moan about it constantly, threaten to abandon the platform, and are still able to deliver fantastic games.

It can indeed be used as a scapegoat, I admit. I shouldn't have phrased it so harshly. And it has been proven time and again that it is still quite possibke to do good business on the PC despite the piracy situation.

I'm just tired of the idea that piracy is something developers must pretend doesn't exist, and that when they do speak out, it is construed as an unacceptable attack on PC gamers everywhere. And the "million excuses" piracy mentality that is all too common.

Yeah, sure, after the game's producer made such nice comments about PC gamers, we're going to go out of our way to buy yet another DRM-loaded, badly-ported Ubi POS.

      Fuck you, Ubi.

No interest and then they will blame that on piracy for low sales.
