It appears that people's curiosity over NASA's Mars rover is starting to interfere with Peter Molyneux's cube-chiseling concept app. So the search for a new name has begun, with Molyneux getting plenty of suggestions via Twitter.

The 22Cans boss tweeted today that the company couldn't use the name Curiosity "because of NASA," prompting a flood of queries asking if the space agency had asked him to change the name because of a conflict with the name of the Mars vehicle. Molyneux responded that it was his decision, not NASA's.

"The name change is prompted by the need to have something simple to search for in Google," he told Modojo. "This worked well for 'Curiosity' but since NASA: Curiosity is now obviously generating a lot of interest we need to change the name."

Molyneux's Twitter followers have started suggesting new names for his cube-tapping creation, which is scheduled to come out sometime next month.

Molyneux offered some details about development at his 22Cans studio at Unite 2012 and showed a brief demo of it in action. Molyneux starts his talk around the 1:08:50 mark, with the demo around 1:44:50.
