Harold is a gorgeous 2D game coming to PC & consoles next year

A gorgeous hand-drawn 2D game is coming to PAX Prime in a few weeks. Harold has you controlling a guardian angel manipulating the environment to guarantee Harold as a victor.

Harold is coming to PAX Prime later this month. And not just like some dude. It's also the name of indie dev Moonspider Studio's first game.

The game has you controlling a guardian angel, overlooking a gangly, clumsy Harold as he enters a wacky race to the finish. Being a guardian angel, of course, means you have powers. You'll be able to manipulate the environment and help give Harold access to different paths, all while sabotaging the course for Harold's opponents. See, prayer can win games!

While we'll have to wait until PAX to get hands-on with the game, it's shaping up to be quite lovely. Moonspider claims that their artists have worked at Disney, Pixar, Dreamworks, Studio Ghibli, and more. "These talented individuals are utilizing all of their experiences to help make Harold one of the most visually stunning video games ever created," the announcement claims.

Harold will be available on PC and consoles next year, but here's a look at it.

Graphics look cool, but the gameplay doesn't look interesting and the sound effects are really annoying. Bummer?

I agree with you completely. That really sux; I'm still waiting for the day they bring out a pc game based on Wonder Boy 3: The Dragons Trap; but more advanced game player, graphics etc.

        That would be epic.

Completely agree. The artwork is stunning but gameplay looks like it'd get boring or tedious quick.
