Diablo2 Patch Warning

Gamespot is reporting that it's best to install the Diablo2 patch (see yesterday) before beginning play as the patch will erase your single-player character progress. update Gamespot emailed us again, saying Blizzard QA can not reproduce the problem and its probably an issue of old files from the beta causing this.

Thats what you get for using a business operating system instead of 98 or ME....

fuck i'm tired of win2k "home" users who want to be hardcore - too many customers calling me (phone support ISP) with win2k - previous OS for them - 95, exposure to NT 0%

great... diablo2 absolutely refused to work in d3d mode under win2k for me. and even the directdraw version keeps crashing. bleh.

I just had this happen to me. I got to around level 14 when I patched the game, and was playing single-player only. I log onto battle.net for the first time, start a new character etc, and begin playing. The lag is horrible and it finally disconnects me so I go back for some single player action, and my game is gone. WTF?

what a bunch of lamers those gamespot ppl are, you just have to copy it back from a backup into the save directory without the .key file and it will work no problem
