Cross-platform synergy! That's what CCP's Dust 514 is all about, so it's no surprise that the PS Vita is joining the EVE Online action. The "Neocom" is a free companion app for the Vita that lets you interact with various aspects of the Dust 514 world.

"There's no direct gameplay," CCP's Cameron Payne explained. But "it brings all the customization, community, and commerce features onto the Vita... You can interact with battles, purchase items on the market, play around with your dropsuit or vehicle and then save it so you can use it on PS3."

Dust 514 being a free-to-play game, it will have a massive store of virtual goods. That marketplace will be fully accessible from within the Vita app, so that you can take advantage of daily deals and special offers even when you're on-the-go. (If you can't play, might as well buy, buy, buy!)

You'll be able to see the entire Eve galaxy in real-time on the Vita as well. You'll be able to zoom in and out by pinching the Vita's touch screen. "700 solar systems and you can drill down and look at the individual planets. Over time we’d like you to be able to tinker with those planets and manage their surface infrastructure," CCP creative director Atli Mars Sveinsson told the PlayStation.Blog.

Of course, if you don't own a Vita, CCP notes that you aren't missing out on anything, as these are all features included in the PS3 game.
