World of Warcraft opening new races to all
by Alice O'Connor, Aug 17, 2012 8:15am PDTIf you fancy playing a pandaman in World of Warcraft but don't much fancy actually buying the Mists of Pandaria expansion, good news! Blizzard will be opening every race up to all players, whether they own the expansion which introduced them or not. Yes you, person who somehow has kept playing WoW all these years without buying a single expansion, will soon be able to have goblins, werewolves, space-goats and all that jazz.
The change will come in with patch 5.0.4, Blizzard announced yesterday. The update's slated to launch on August 28, paving the way for Mists of Pandaria's launch on September 25.
"We want the entire World of Warcraft community to be able to embrace their inner goblin, blood elf, worgen, draenei, or pandaren from the moment they step foot into the world of Azeroth."
You'll still need to buy expansions to access their new areas and whatnot, of course.
Say, speaking of MoP, did you see the fancy opening cinematic yesterday?
