Zelda: Hyrule Historia book coming to the west
by Steve Watts, Aug 17, 2012 6:45am PDTYou might recall that late last year, Nintendo (finally) officially released a timeline of events in the Legend of Zelda series. The company had long insisted that an official order existed, but refused to publicize it. The revelation came from a book called The Legend of Zelda: Hyrule Historia that was released in Japan, and that tome is making the journey westward.
IGN reports that Dark Horse Comics wil be publishing the book in the US, set for January 16, 2013. It will cost $34.99, and consist of 248 pages. Dark Horse also commented that some notes were very small in the Japanese version, and it will be making them legible for the US translation resulting in a bigger book. It will be prefaced with an introduction from series creator Shigeru Miyamoto.
Of course, if you recall the news about the timeline, you might also recall that it was absolutely nuts. It splits into three parts, all centering on Ocarina of Time: one for child Link, one for adult Link, and one if Link just utterly failed his quest. You may not have realized it, but when you died in OoT, you were setting up the canonical branch that leads to the original NES Legend of Zelda. Trippy.
