At Sony's Gamescom 2012 press briefing, the company outlined some upcoming plans for PlayStation Plus. Most notably, the Cloud Saving feature is getting a huge upgrade from 150 MB to a full GB, which the company says ensures that users will never run out of space to save games in the cloud.

The company also casually mentioned that the service will be expanding to PlayStation Vita, though it was vague on that front. Sony promised more information to come soon, so we'll update as details become available.

About time, definitely ran out of space a few times, thanks to 10-15mb fallout save files.

The only thing left is to allow the cloud service to be enabled on multiple consoles at once..

doesnt it do this but only if you set your profile to the primary on both consoles? i tried to get it to work on 2nd ps3 but since i don't own the 2nd ps3 didn't want to make my profile primary and auto sign in.

You don't need to make it your primary account. Just sign in and you will be able to access your cloud saves. I think you're limited to only 3 PS3s, though.

You can do it manually, but not automatically. Whenever you boot a game up for the first time and it asks you if you'd like to automatically upload your saves, if you select yes, it will say this feature can only be enabled on one console at a time, and will disable it on the currently enabled system. It also handles the automatic updates and trophy sync too.

Sorry, wasn't referring to just uploading saves..

oh i thought it was telling me that i had to be the primary. i'll have to read it again. maybe that's the first of 2 steps.

so much easier on the 360, everything is just automatic and it loads it right out of the cloud when you play a game without micromanagement and uploads too.

Yeah I'm not sure why the restriction exists, considering there are other services that handle it just fine (Steam).

that's not a problem, the problem is automatically syncing your saved games. so on my PS3 at home it does it no problem. the PS3 at the cottage, which isn't mine, I have to manually download my saves when I arrive and manually upload my saves before I leave. because the dude that owns the ps3 and has the primary psn account on the system doesn't have plus, no software updates automatically either.

Awesome, I filled up 150mb too quickly.

Anyone remember when memory cards were 8mb? lol

150mb did seem small, at the same time, I've used very little of my 360 cloud space (far less than 100mb) even though I've been using it almost exclusively for save games since it launched. I think I skipped putting FO:NV up there but otherwise it's got a bunch of games, I've been surprised how little has gotten used up.

Most games are 1-2MB or less, Gamebryo is just a memory pig.

yeah, the big ones stand out, like Deus Ex and KOTOR saves of old taking 10-20mb each and eventually eating up GBs of space by the time you finished the game.
