Q3Test 1.08 Install Issues
by Jack Mathews, Aug 03, 1999 10:59am PDTJust wanted to let you guys that may be having problems know that you have to delete the old test in order to get it to work (as I just found out). It *seems* you can keep your configs, but I'm not sure. Also, you'll prolly want to nuke 'baseq3' if you used that for the previous tests. How do you know if you're having these problems? If the game tells you that your pak0.pak file is corrupt. Oh, and this info *is* in the readme.

Well, since mine is the only post on the board, I\'m going to assume you\'re responding to me.
I do this because I have a BRAIN. This is test software, nothing is guaranteed to work. If I went ahead and deleted the older version, there\'s a chance I\'d have to reinstall, rather than renaming to get back where I want to be.
I\'ve been in software development for over a dozen years. I do things the way I want to. The way experience has shown me causes the fewest problems.
Instead of jumping to insane assumptions about people, you should really chill out. If I don\'t want to lose my config file under any circumstances, I don\'t see why you should have a problem with that... Care to explain yourself?

Just rename the Q3TEST directory to something different before doing a new install.
I still have 1.05 and 1.07 in place if I want \'em. If I run short on disk space or I get some energy or something, I\'ll go ahead and delete.
