Black Ops 2 takes the franchise to the near-future. So, how will the new setting change multiplayer? Treyarch and Activision has released a brand new trailer showing off the game's new online offerings. You'll notice some throwable melee weapons, riot shields, drones, and vehicles.

The game will be out on PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 this November. Pre-orders come with a bonus remade Nuketown 2025 multiplayer map.

Not bad for an ancient engine.

I think it looks pretty neat. Something tells me this one will piss off a lot of CoD players though... it looks too different. What was the deal with the silhouettes behind cover?

I think/hope another teammate scoped them out and tagged them.
I agree, I hope it's fun while different enough to rustle some feathers.

Interesting. It looks almost like they are taking some things out of the BFBC2/BF3 play book. It also kinda looks like Blacklight Retribution in some ways.

Yeah, reading about it kinda makes it sound like they are actually trying to mix it up a little from the same formula. I'm planning on picking it up.

Waaaaaat? It looks like the same exact game they've been iterating on for a few years. I'm not saying that in a positive or negative way, just that I don't see how this would piss anyone off.

What WILL piss people off is when they can't play Nuketown 2025 because it's a fucking stupid pre-order bonus. Retarded.

I think the tech and setting will annoy your average 360/PS2 CoD player.

Nah, I think they'll be pretty ok with it. As long as they can shoot shit and yell "faggotass faggots" into their mic they'll still be stoked.

My only question is will the multiplayer on the PC have dedicated servers like CoD:BlOps 1 and CoD4, etc? If not I'm not interested. The lack of community and moderation on the floating server model of MW2/3 ruined the game for me. Plus the rounds always felt way too short.

Also the really small maps with nowhere to use sniper rifles didn't help MW3.

Yes, they already announced dedicated servers.

I'll need confirmation of that closer to launch, cause they said they'd have it for MW3 and they didn't.

Treyarch CoD's have yet to carry over the client/server model to PC, and their confirmation did specify ranked dedicated servers. So I'd say odds are good.

Their branch of the engine never went P2P on the PC side AFAIK.

I'll only play Call of Duty when it goes back to World War II and has large maps, tanks, jeeps, all nation specific weapons available at the start of a round, and the ability to run around the map and say "Incoming Armor!" in German, which happens to sound like "My pants are cold!".

What was interesting to me the most in this trailer is how slowed down the action seemed. Every other CoD MP trailer is fast paced action and this looked so much slower.

Am I the only one smiling because EA will not get $60 (plus another $100 for DLC) for the same old game from me?

I really wish all game companies would limit series to two equals and eliminate all DLC. The same old crap being pushed out every year is just BS.

I pray for Ouya's success and give these corporations the finger.

Ah, you got me, BF3 is EA and CoD is Activision. Still the point remains, I'm done with endless squeals and paying more than $30 for a game.
