Diablo 3 hotfix targets rubberbanding
by Alice O'Connor, Aug 06, 2012 6:45am PDTDiablo III may have frustratingly cut single-player and forced everyone to play online at all times, but at least Blizzard's working to make that experience a little smoother. Diablo III's first hotfix of the month popped out on Friday, aiming at patching up 'rubberbanding' so you shouldn't see your Killy Man jerking back and forth in the throes of lag as much anymore.
"Fixed several cases of 'rubberbanding' that could sometimes occur while playing under extremely high latency, when a character changed direction or movement speed, or when a character used certain movement-based abilities (like Tempest Rush or Whirlwind)," Blizzard says on Diablo III's August hotfix log. That's "several cases" mind, not necessarily everything.
A few crash bugs have also been hotfixed.
In other Diablo III update news, Blizzard revealed plans to tweak the Auction House a little. "We're looking to bump the number of Preferred Stats slots from 3 up to 6. We're also looking to bump the number of digits in the 'Min Value' window from 3 to 5 (so you can search for Preferred Stat values higher than '999')," community manager Stephanie 'Lylirra' Johnson explained.

However, there are a couple "news" sites that will take everything they say and straight-up lie about it to make a damning headline. Combined with a downright hostile community, and it's a wonder they still say anything at all.
