NBA 2K13 to be 'executive produced' by Jay Z
by Steve Watts, Aug 01, 2012 12:30pm PDTJay Z is something of a mogul, between his albums, clothing, and club. But when he's not marrying Beyonce or complaining about some odd number of problems, he's looking for new ways to expand his empire--like video games. Specifically, basketball video games, as 2K Sports has announced the rapper will serve as executive producer on NBA 2K13.
You may wonder how this will impact the game. 2K promises that Jay Z's "artistic vision and style" will be integrated into the game, including visual elements and (for obvious reasons) the soundtrack. It will consist of 24 tracks, some from Jay Z himself. Other than that, his involvement won't impact the core gameplay, unless he decides his ownership of the Nets means they'll be severely overpowered.
The press release calls this a "unique fusion of basketball, music, art, and entertainment." Check out the trailer below.
