Fresh off the success of the Witcher series, CD Projekt RED is taking another beloved property and giving it the RPG treatment with Cyberpunk. The developer has been largely quiet about the upcoming game, but took a little time to answer fans' questions about the story and customization options.

"In Cyberpunk, each character role will offer a set of special skills that will impact your stats in many different ways," said community manager Marcin Momot in a Q&A. That's where the challenge kicks in, we want to create a game where character customization will be strongly tied with the plot. Now going from that, we believe that we can make a game where, with many different role choices, you will get a very strong, engaging story, just like it was with The Witcher." He says they plan to give players "way more freedom with customization of the main protagonist" than Geralt in The Witcher.

Momot also suggested that the story will take place "all over the world," but will primarily be set in the series' established Night City. It's hard to tell just when we'll get a first look at that world, but Gamescom is right around the corner. That seems like a safe bet.
