Far Cry 3 trailer: 4 minutes of co-op
by Alice O'Connor, Aug 01, 2012 1:00pm PDTBetween the gratuitous sexy wiggles and daft antagonist, I'm a bit put-off by what we've seen of Far Cry 3 lately, especially as a big Far Cry 2 fan. Chin up, killers. A new narrated walkthrough of its co-op mode shows that even if the campaign does seem silly, the four-player fun looks swish.
Far Cry 3's co-op mode is separate from the campaign, with four other characters on a mission taking them through a different area of the island. You'll have to work together to complete objectives, and, of course, shoot men. There'll be special breaks in missions where players can compete for high scores by casually sniping at far-away enemies.
Our Andrew got to play the co-op during E3 in June, though he was somewhat held up by bugs--which you'd expect from an early version of the game. He also had a go at the campaign and quite enjoyed it, so don't mind my grumbling.
Far Cry 3 is coming to PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on December 4, having been delayed from September to make time for a little extra work and polish.
