Free-to-play mech game Hawken is getting a live action adaptation. Starring Edi Gathegi (X-Men: First Class), the series is in development by Warner Premiere and is set to premiere in 2013.

According to early details from TheWrap, the story follows "two young pilots from separate clans pitted against one another after a devastating virus has covered most of the heavily industrialized planet surface in toxic crystal."

Developer Adhesive Games described the story as "Romeo & Juliet meets District 9." Make of that what you wish.

      Definitely looking forward to this. There's a real lack of intense mech combat in Western culture, I've found.
