The Walking Dead coming to PlayStation Plus

PlayStation Plus subscribers will get episodes 1 and 2 of The Walking Dead for free on August 7.

The Walking Dead has gotten a lot of attention for hitting the sweet spot of the Telltale adventure game formula, along with a few new narrative hooks. If you're a PlayStation Plus member and you haven't tried it out yet, the good news is you'll be able get it soon at no extra cost.

The PlayStation Blog gives word that both current episodes are coming as part of the PS+ "Instant Game Collection" on August 7. The note doesn't mention whether the subsequent three episodes will be offered for free or at a discount, so this two-episode taste may just hook you.

Sony promises more details of August bonuses for PS+ subscribers to come, but for now we know that subscribers will get the horror adventure game and deep discounts on the PSN Play titles. That seems like a pretty good start.

I really don't see the appeal to this type of game. I played about 30 mins or so on the 1st chapter and boy was it boring. Might as well read a "choose your own adventure" book, imo.
