Dead Island developers trademark mobile 'Dead Stop'
by Steve Watts, Jul 30, 2012 11:00am PDTDead Island developer Techland may be making zombies tiny enough to fit in your pocket. A new trademark application implies that the studio is working on a mobile game, most likely tied in with its existing undead franchise.
Siliconera reports that the developer filed a trademark for "Dead Stop," an online game that would be available via "mobile phones and other electronic apparatus." Details are sparse beyond that.
We know that last year, Techland registered a similar trademark for Dead World. It seems likely that Dead World is the sequel to Dead Island, which means Dead Stop could be a mobile tie-in game for it. Or the two could be totally unrelated to Dead Island or even each other, and Techland just really loves putting the word "dead" in their titles. Time will tell.
