Nielsen: Halo 4, Black Ops 2 most anticipated games
by John Keefer, Jul 20, 2012 10:00am PDTIf you ask someone what their most anticipated game is, you'll usually get a variety of answers, with a few games mentioned more than others. Marketing and metrics firm Nielsen gathered up some numbers after E3 and now tells us what we really want on the consoles.
Nielsen took an updated look at what games consumers want after new titles and release dates were announced at E3 in June. Halo 4 continues to be the most anticipated game on Xbox 360, while Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 is tops for PlayStation 3. On the Wii, Just Dance 4 is what players want, while Madden NFL 13 was a strong performer on all three platforms.
The top five most anticipated on each platform (with a release date before the end of the year):
Xbox 360
1. Halo 4
2. Call of Duty: Black Ops 2
3. Assassin's Creed 3
4. Madden NFL 13
5. Resident Evil 6
PlayStation 3
1. Call of Duty: Black Ops 2
2. Madden NFL 13
3. Assassin's Creed 3

The rankings were based on "online interviews of 4,823 male and female active gamers (those who own at least one current generation console and actively play on and purchase games for that console), between the ages of 7 to 54. The timeframe for the data collection was June 3 to June 30."
