Rock Band Blitz twangs out in August
by Alice O'Connor, Jul 18, 2012 8:15am PDTRock Band Blitz is a curious sausage, turning the plastic instrument series into a more-straightforward rhythm game you can play with a plain old regular controller. You'll get to bite into this bangin' banger at the end of August, developer Harmonix announced today, when it launches for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 at $20 (1,200 MS Points).
Rock Band Blitz will hit PlayStation Network on August 28, then slam into XBLA on August 29. It can play any existing Rock Band track, whether imported from the boxed games or bought in the Music Store, and brings another twenty-odd tracks of its own. Harmonix revealed another four today:
- Avenged Sevenfold - "So Far Away"
- Fun. ft. Janelle Monáe - "We Are Young"
- Kool & The Gang - "Jungle Boogie"
- My Chemical Romance - "Sing"
And look, here's a new-ish video showing how some of the power-ups work:
