EA has confirmed reports that a beta invite to Battlefield 4 will be included with pre-orders of the Medal of Honor: Warfighter Limited Edition. The announcement claims the Battlefield 4 beta will be available sometime in fall 2013, so you have a while to wait.

EA points out that the two games are very different, but touts the shared heritage of the Frostbite engine. Yesterday, the rumors started churning from a leaked ad that promised the beta. Today you can actually order the Limited Edition from Origin, which costs $10 more than the standard edition.

Amen, I also hope they go for a more BC1 style campaign, rather than a call of duty campaign.

No, I refuse. I don't want Battlefield 4 to come out till the next generation of consoles. This is way to soon.

Saw a lot of discussion on this on the bf3 subreddit, copypasted-
The time between Bad Company 1 and 2 was about 21 months. (BF1943 was also developed and released in this time)
The time between Bad Company 2 and BF3 was about 19 months. (BC2 Vietnam, a bunch of updates, were released in this time)
The time between BF3 and the "Fall 2013" release date will be 23-25 months. (And the announced maps will have all come out)

Exactly, people have rose colored glasses and forget that 1942 to vietnam was only 18 months.

I always saw Vietnam as an expansion. I never did buy it.

Definitely wasn't, played way different. MW3 to MW2 is more of an expansion than BF42 to BFV.

The time between Battlefield 2 and 2142 was like 16 or 17 months.

And everyone criticized 2142 for feeling like an incomplete game, and an unfinished expansion.

Internet whining, what is new? I think the heavily marketed presence of BF3 just keeps the game fresh in people's minds, giving way to biased too soon opinions.

I'm done with BF. Too many expansions in too little time. And the "premium" thing? I'll stick with Tribes, more fun anyway.

this is bad mojo. its what, less than a year since BF3 came out, and just a couple months after they pushed this whole "BF PREMIUM" and showed us they are working on 2 more expansion packs? this is going to damage the already abysmal public image of EA and the BF franchise. we all know they were making a BF4, but why do we have to be told about it in such a way, right after all this "monetizing" they have done with BF3.

Let's see... Battlefield 3 sucked, so... not interested in Battlefield 4?

Time for you to retire, Patrick S. You've done enough harm to this series already.

Battlefield is not the type of franchise wherein you churn out a new entry every 2 years. BF4 is best saved for the next gen consoles. A major new entry for this franchise is wasted on the 360/PS3. Save it for new hardware.
