It's entirely understandable if you have no interest in the world and backstory of Halo, but look at the live-action web series Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn this way--it's another sci-fi series to watch, which is always welcome. The first proper trailer was released during Comic-Con, showing the sort of military academy shenanigans we can expect when it debuts on October 5.

Forward Unto Dawn kicks off just before the Covenant invade, when a group of cadets at the United Nations Space Command military academy are moodily sulking about this and that, fighting amongst themselves, and generally being loose cannons and mavericks. Then the Covenant arrive, and things really go to pot.

It'll be released in five episodes, leading up to the launch of Halo 4 on November 6.

Looks awesome! I wonder if we'll see blue team (John's main team) or any other Spartans.

Well then. I will only accept this as a warmup for making the greatest Sci Fi movie of all time. Fall of Reach.

The Halo universe has so many epic stories, many equal to and some greater than the adventures Master Chief has been on, so there's plenty of potential.

This... was quite a bit cooler than I thought it would be when I first clicked on it. I could watch this. I respect their bravery for even attempting something like this, it could be really bad but it looks like maybe they will pull it off.

That was pretty awesome. I would LOVE a serious, live-action Halo film. There's plenty of material in the expanded universe to work from.
