Spartacus Legends coming 2013, based on Starz series
by Andrew Yoon, Jul 11, 2012 4:30pm PDTFans of the cable Spartacus franchise have a video game to look forward to. Spartacus Legends, an original fighting game based on the Starz series, is in the works, publisher Ubisoft has announced. It will be available in early 2013.
"Gamers will experience primeval gladiator moments, from training inside the ludus to brutal battles in the arena, all while striving to become a legend," the announcement reads.
Players will be able to play as Spartacus, Crixus, or a user-created warrior in offline and online multiplayer matches. Lead actor Liam McIntyre will not only lend his likeness and voice to the game, but will also offer "creative feedback" throughout the development process based on early builds of the game.
The game will be playable at San Diego Comic-Con later this week.
