Sony unveiled two more characters for PlayStation All-Stars: Battle Royale at EVO this past weekend. And both characters should be familiar to fighting fanatics.

First up is Heihachi, from the Tekken series. He is one of the few characters to appear in every iteration of the Tekken franchise, and even appeared in Soul Calibur 2 as PlayStation's console-exclusive character (Nintendo had Link, Xbox had Spawn).

Next up is Toro, Sony's ubiquitous PlayStation mascot... in Japan. While Toro hasn't been used in North American marketing, he's one of the many PlayStation-exclusive characters to star in Street Fighter x Tekken.

After these announcements, the current roster of characters is at 10. Here are all the characters revealed so far:

  • Big Daddy
  • Fat Princess
  • Heihachi Mishima
  • Kratos
  • Mael Radec
  • Nathan Drake
  • PaRappa
  • Sly Cooper
  • Sweet Tooth
  • Toro Inoue

Future announcements will continue to offer a mix of first-party and third-party characters. In addition, there will be a "final boss" for the game. We're hoping it's none other than Kaz Hirai.

PlayStation All-Stars: Battle Royale will be available on Vita and PS3 on October 23.

i think adding fighting game characters to a game like this is defeating the entire purpose of the game

But it makes sense as far as a Sony Mascot game is concerned. Tekken was a Playstation 1 exclusive for a while and it makes sense they dip into that well w/ him.

I think we will also see a Crash Bandicoot, Jack and Daxter, Some Final Fanstasy 7,8,9 character (My hope would be Vivi from 9) Ratchet and Clank, Big Boss (Metal Gear), and probably the king from the game you roll the ball around. Can't think of the name.
