McCartney working on music for Bungie's new game
by John Keefer, Jul 09, 2012 6:00am PDTMusic legend Paul McCartney told his fans that he is working with Bungie on the music for an as yet unannounced game, releasing a photo of himself chatting with Bungie composer Marty O'Donnell. We can only assume the collaboration involves the project codenamed "Destiny".
"I'm really excited to be working on writing music with Bungie, the studio that made Halo," McCartney said on his Facebook page and his Twitter (via Eurogamer). The posts finally offered specifics to an interview he did in January with German magazine Die Zeit where he said he was working on a video game. McCartney had previously worked with Harmonix on The Beatles: Rock Band.
Bungie's "Destiny" was revealed in court documents as part of Activision's court battle with Infinity Ward. The action shooter was in the original 10-year contract the developer signed with Activision in 2010. If the plans in the documents hold true, "Destiny" is scheduled for a 2013 release.
