PlayStation All-Stars: Battle Royale launches on October 23

PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale will be available on PS3 and Vita on October 23rd.

With so many games coming out in 2013, this holiday season is looking a bit sparse. Not to worry, though. Sony has at least one big game slated for Christmas shoppers: PlayStation All-Stars: Battle Royale. It will be available on PS3 and Vita on October 23rd.

While the game's full roster has yet to be revealed, Sony has announced the game's requisite pre-order bonus: an exclusive set of costumes for all the characters in the game. The image above only shows the outfits for announced characters; obviously, there will be more characters in the game.

The PlayStation.Blog confirms that there will be "multiple costumes" to unlock for each character in the game, but that these costumes are pre-order exclusives.

Unfortunately, Sony has been tight-lipped about other release details. Specifically, is there a discount for purchasing both the Vita and PS3 versions of the game? And how many characters can we expect? These are the questions we'd like to know before slamming down money on a pre-order.

Why? Did Bioshock become a Sony exclusive while I slept?

I think it's because of the Vita-exclusive BioShock game coming after Infinite.

And Sony doesn't have enough recognizable characters to create a Brawl game without borrowing them. I can't imagine what a 360 Brawl game would look like.

they both do, just none of them are very well geared towards a fighting game. killzone dude? he's a guy with a gun (and i assume a knife). that doesn't work well in a game where most of the attacks should be close combat-ish, especially when Nathan Drake has pretty much the same attributes, guy with a guy.

microsoft would have a similar problem, but maybe they could make it so marcus fenix can't jump or something

I think I'm the only one who would actually rather have a complete clone of Smash Bros. with different characters. Spamming attacks at your opponents until you can use and score points with your finisher just doesn't seem all that fun to me. Maybe I'll come around once I play it though, we'll see.

If Crash Bandicoot ain't a Playstation All-Star, then I don't know what is. Can't be considered All-Stars without Crash.
