Seth Killian joins Sony Santa Monica Studio
by Alice O'Connor, Jul 03, 2012 6:00am PDTSeth Killian, co-founder of the EVO fighting game tournament, has signed up with Sony Santa Monica Studio as lead game designer for fight 'em up PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale and other externally-developed games. Killian was formerly Capcom USA's strategic marketing director of online and community, leaving on June 22.
"Fighting games are very close to my heart, and as someone that's spent much of my life with traditional fighters, All-Stars has been a great opportunity to take a step back and rethink fighting fundamentals from the ground up," Killian wrote on the PlayStation Blog.
"The entire team was put together from scratch to create this game, and they are loaded with fighting game superstars (including some impressive tournament credentials--I'm not even the first EVO finalist to join the team!) who love great combat just as much as I do."
In his goodbye message at Capcom, Killian wrote, "I have chosen a new path which will let me embrace a new dream, but to everyone that ever believed in this dream we shared together, let me say this final thanks."
