Mighty Switch Force HD coming to Wii U

WayForward's Mighty Switch Force probably never got the audience it deserved, being a 3DS eShop exclusive game. However, it's getting a second chance at success on Nintendo's next console, Wii U.

Mighty Switch Force HD is exactly what it sounds like: an HD remake of the original 3DS game. Given the 3DS has a 400x240 resolution screen, bumping the game up to 1080p will require a significant retooling--and that's exactly what WayForward is doing. Each sprite in the game is being redrawn, making it quite a daunting challenge.

Speaking to Nintendo Power (via Siliconera), WayForward's Matt Bozon explains that the Wii U GamePad will function as the "Hooligan Tracker" from the original game. In addition, you'll be able to play the game directly on the GamePad--no TV required. Finally, the Wii U version will also include the new "Bonus Incidents" extra content.

Was going to say, it sounds like a fun little game. Nice having another confirmed game that you can play just on the game pad.
