Knights of the Old Republic Collection spotted at retail

Two separate retailers have listed a Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Collection, on sale for $19.99 on July 17.

Fans of the classic single-player Star Wars RPGs may be in for a treat soon, as it appears that a "Knights of the Old Republic Collection" is incoming. Two separate retailers have listed the set, which would presumably include both KotOR and KotOR II: The Sith Lords. The collection has only been listed for the PC.

Joystiq reports that the Collection was found on GameStop's internal listings, for $19.99 and launching in July 17. The leak gained even more traction when Amazon put up a listing for the game, with the same date and price.

Both games were highly regarded, but the sequel was criticized by some fans for seeming incomplete. Shacknews has contacted LucasArts regarding the wild retail sightings, and will update as more information becomes available.

no shit. this better be direct funding to restart making KOTOR 3. this is still one of the craziest gaming business decisions. abandon a blockbuster IP to sink a bajillion dollars into an MMO... which is on life support.

the KOTOR franchise should have been milked in perpetuity. can I use the term EPIC FAIL here? you bet your ass. I just did. fucking epic fucking fail. failboat. wow just wow. etc.

lolz, I totally agree. KotOR was such an amazing RPG; I found it more awesome back then than I did Mass Effect when that came out. Never played KotOR 2 because I kept hearing that it was buggy and released too early. Too bad they then gave up. :(

KOTOR 2 was surprisingly good despite the bad mouthing, it just had an abrupt unfinished ending

Bingo. Darth Sion? Darth Nihilus? oh fuck yes. serious sith shit? HK-47? holy shitballs. great characters, greatly improved combat. and this was all limited on the Xbox 1 era stuff. we ain't seen shit on the 360, which is fucking SHITBALLS.

and what's so funny is that people are whining about dark/light only and no grey in TOR... well, KOTOR 1 and 2 each had grey characters. they just completely fucking forgot how awesome KOTORs were and went all in on the MMO.

              fucking shit fuck.

obviously not as epic as KOTOR 1, but hey, that's sequelitis for you. KOTOR 2 was a kick ass follow up and I'm disappointed that someone decided to walk away from it. the ending was rushed as fuck, but I was always hopeful that would mean MORE FUCKING KOTORS MOTHER FUCKERS

No mention anywhere about updated graphics. I can't understand why they would release this otherwise unless to lure people to KoR?

yeah, i'd buy it with proper 16:9 and slightly enhanced visuals.

I was wondering that myself. KOTOR is usually pretty cheap already on steam. Unless there's something new like updated graphics and 16:9 support, who really cares? Gamepad support would also be nice. I seem to recall both not having support on pc for it.

yeah. if there's new content and some graphics, OK I'd play them for the 12 trillionth time. otherwise, why even pimp this out? these were both xbox 1 games, not even 360. nothing has ever been made for these titles in the 360 generation. why sell this stuff again, unless there's significant stuff for PC???

I've had issues running both games on Windows 7. I wonder if they have addressed this on this release. If it's a simple repackaging, then this is an utter waste of money.

Do you like stuff like this? I didn't think it would be news but I could have submitted it as such back in April which is when distributors received the listing/UPC.
