Total War: Rome II announced
by John Keefer, Jul 02, 2012 6:00am PDTThe Creative Assembly has been to many different eras and locations in its Total War series. From medieval times to Napolean to feudal Japan, the series has run the gamut. But the popular franchise is now returning to arguably its most popular venue, Rome.
Sega announced today Total War: Rome II, and the game is expected to span several hundred years. The goal will be to de-emphasize micromanagement and focus on fewer, but more significant battles.
"Our games have always encompassed a grand vision," Creative Director Mike Simpson said in the release. "But we’re now pushing that vision at both ends of the spectrum. From the immense reach of the sandbox campaign right down to the human-level drama of a single warrior on the battlefield, we’re aiming for an unprecedented level of detail and scale."
Total War: Rome II will come out for the PC sometime in 2013. Check out Kat Bailey's look at the game.
