Max Payne 3 gets various fixes, balance adjustments
by Steve Watts, Jun 26, 2012 1:30pm PDTThe gritty single-player campaign was likely the draw for a lot of Max Payne 3 players, but the multiplayer is still going strong. Rockstar has just pushed out a new title update on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, packing mostly bug fixes and balance adjustments with a distinct focus on multiplayer. The PC version is due later today.
The Rockstar site details the changes. It brings spawn point tweaking, stability and load time improvements, and new weapon balancing adjustments. It also reduces the hardcore playlist requirement from 5,000 to 1,000.
Fixes include the gold textures not unlocking on DLC weapons, XP not incrementing between rank 49 and 50, and a fix to scope weapons using southpaw controls for invert-vertical axis users. Also, if you've found yourself dying in the campaign, you'll be relieved to know it also fixes an issue where the game could autosave immediately before a death.
