Kickstarter has once again helped video game dreams become reality, as zombie survival RPG Dead State hit its $150,000 goal on Friday, with twelve days of fundraising left. Developer DoubleBear, co-founded by Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines writer Brian Mitsoda and former Obsidian writer Annie VanderMeer Mitsoda, has now revealed the stretch goals, giving more reasons for those still not onboard to toss their cash in.

Dead State is a PC RPG harkening back to ye goode olde days of turn-based combat and meaningful dialogue branches. DoubleBear explains, "As society is beginning to fall apart, the player must organize allies, fortify a shelter, scout for food and supplies, and make uncertain alliances, attempting to hold together a group as humanity teeters on the brink of extinction. And although the zombies lurk as an ever present threat, the biggest obstacle to the player may just be other humans with the same goal: survival at any cost."

With ten days now left to go, the Kickstarter campaign has a touch under $180,000 in pledges. When it hits that $180k mark, DoubleBear will commit to adding extra weapons. $210k will bring new areas including a mall and county fair, and so on, all the way up to a mini-expansion at $360k.

You can get a copy of Dead State when it's finished by pledging at least $15, a discount on the launch price. Higher pledge tier rewards include a deluxe boxed edition, having your face on a zombie, and sneaking a little story into the game.

I've been waiting this game since maybe 3 years ago (or 2?) when I read this in PC Gamer article and it is finally on Kickstarter. Hope it will be as awesome as they imagined it. Can't wait for the game to be done.
