Journey released to critical praise this year, completeing a three game deal with Sony. Developer thatgamecompany is now preparing to move into multiplatform development. But before they do, why not revisit all three of their games with a brand new compilation coming this August?

The collection was first outed by a GameFly listing, which cited the release date as August 28. thatgamecompany then confirmed the compilation to Joystiq, promising full details soon. In the meantime, we can speculate that it will probably pack together flOw, Flower, and Journey. Aside from being the three games created under a deal from Sony, they also show a pretty tidy development progression from one to the next... a journey, if you will.

I'm wondering why they feel the need to do a disc compilation instead of just a PSN combo sale.

Because it might give them more money for multiplatform development, or perhaps it will be a multiplatform release?

Awesome, just picked up a PS3 so I could play Virtua Fighter FS, Wpeout, and Journey. Looks like I'll wait a couple months and get the touchy-feely games too.
