F-Zero appearing in Nintendo Land
by Steve Watts, Jun 05, 2012 7:00pm PDTNintendo closed out its E3 press briefing today with Nintendo Land, a mini-game collection to show off the strengths of the Wii U control mechanism. Each of 12 areas is themed after a Nintendo property, but Nintendo is only making five available to play on the show floor. At a developer roundtable this evening, the company revealed one more appearance from a long-dormant franchise: F-Zero.
The demonstration was just a simple race, and Nintendo didn't show what the GamePad tablet actually does during gameplay. Nintendo Land as a whole is meant to highlight applications of the system, but we'll have to wait a little longer to see what use the F-Zero appearance is meant to show off.
