Those pesky wizards are starting to gather again, loitering in pub doorways and looking to start fights, which can only mean its about time for Magic: The Gathering - Duels of the Planeswalkers 2013 to arrive. Wizards of the Coast announced today that downloadable duelling will commence on June 20, across PC, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and, for the first time, iPad.

Stainless's 2013 iteration of the addictive collectible card game brings new decks, challenges, cards from the 2013 Core Set, and a new Planechase multiplayer mode. But why do you need to buy a whole new game? Why can't you simply buy the stuff as DLC, as one buys cards from a new expansion? In part, at least, it's down to Microsoft's Xbox Live limitations.

There's no word yet on how much it'll cost, though $10 seems likely--the same as past versions. Presumably the iPad version will be cheaper, mind.

Hope they provide more support for PC this time, there are still bugs that plague the game

And the controller support was completely half assed. Not button icons and I think I got stuck in menus. Fucking weak.

I know it's not really important, but I hope there is another cool intro that features some of the art from older cards (like the one with Gideon at the beginning of DotP 2012).

I wish this was coming to android. I haven't played magic since the 90's and it would be neat to get to play again and on my tablet when I am stuck somewhere.
