Jet Set Radio HD includes entire soundtrack

Sega has confirmed the Jet Set Radio track list, which includes the full worldwide soundtrack from the original game.

Sega has been unsure if it would be able to keep the full Jet Set Radio soundtrack in tact. The company has estimated around 70% of it would return from the original. But Sega announced today that the full soundtrack will be appearing in the game when it launches this summer--unlike another HD re-release. In fact, Sega's HD revamp will include all the songs from every regional release around the world.

"We not only got the full Japanese soundtrack, not just the full European soundtrack, or even just the full North American soundtrack – no no – we got the worldwide soundtrack!"

The soundtrack features 25 songs in all, and includes a mixture of tracks from Sega alongside selected picks from B.B. Rights, Rob Zombie, and Jurassic 5. A price and release date haven't been disclosed, but it sounds like fans of the original and its eclectic music selections should be pleased when it hits.

Select licensed tracks:

  • Electric Tooth Brush - Toronto
  • Everybody Jump Around - Richard Jacques
  • OK House - Idol Taxi
  • Bout the City - Reps
  • Funky Radio - B.B. Rights
  • Mischievous Boy - Castle Logical
  • Yellow Bream - F-Fields
  • Just Got Wicked - Cold
  • Dragula - Rob Zombie
  • Slow - Professional Murder Music
  • Improvise - Jurassic 5
  • Patrol Knob - Mixmaster Mike
  • Recipe for the Perfect Afro - Feature Cast
  • Funky Plucker - Semi Detached

The Sega Blog has the full track list. Jet Set Radio HD will be available this summer on PC, PS3, and Xbox 360. A Vita version is also in the works.

in my mind, I associate this game with Renegades of Funk by Rage Against the Machine. Was that just advertising and not an in-game track or am I just crazy, because I don't see that in the track list on the blog.

I'm pretty sure that song wasn't in the JSR or JGR.

As far as commercials, this one for JSRF still blows my mind. I love that song and I remember losing my shit when I first saw this (though I was kinds disappointed with the game)

Awesome! Future was one of my favorite games on the XBOX, but I never did play the original.

Can somebody remind me what the difference between Jet Set Radio and Jet Grind Radio are? I'm too lazy to look it up. I'm pretty sure that I had (actually still have) for the Dreamcast was Jet Grind.. right? Was Jet Set the sequel?

The game was renamed to "Jet Grind Radio" for the American Dreamcast release. The original name was "Jet Set Radio," and it seems that SEGA will honor the original name for this re-release.
As far as content was concerned, I believe one Japanese music track was removed and several new ones were added for the US release. Two new stages were added. The graffiti art was changed. Similarly, the UK release had soundtrack and graffiti differences and had the new stages, but it retained the name "Jet Set Radio."
On a semi-related note, when SEGA brought over the XBOX game, they kept the name as "Jet Set Radio Future" without sticking "Grind" in there.
