Final Fantasy Dimensions announced for iOS
by Steve Watts, May 30, 2012 12:30pm PDTSquare Enix has announced another original Final Fantasy title for iOS, to complement its offerings of various other spin-offs and ports of older games. Final Fantasy Dimensions is light on details, but hits on many of the touchstones of the series. It's due out this summer.
The announcement promises 2D pixel art, job classes, the ability to inherit jobs from companions, and a classically styled story that revolves around light, darkness, and magic crystals. It all sounds very much like a retro throwback, so maybe we'll get a new old-fashioned entry in the series. The company has opened a Japanese site for the game, but so far it's just a logo. It does look very retro, though, so that helps set the mood.
