The Witcher 2 heading to Mac this fall

CD Projekt RED announced today that The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings is coming to the Mac this fall.

Geralt of Rivia will be witching on yet another platform, as CD Projekt RED has announced The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings will be coming to Mac later this year.

Admitting that the studio actually uses many Macs in-house, the team emphasized that the Mac version of the game "won't be a port" and would, instead, run natively on OS X, which should help make it accessible on more systems. Still, the company did acknowledge that The Witcher 2 is generally pretty taxing, so don't expect to run this on a MacBook Air. This will be the third platform for the game, after the PC version and the recent Xbox 360 "Enhanced Edition." The Mac version is due sometime this fall.

Wow... I can't even imagine running this game on a Mac... I have two 580s in a 4.3GHz 980x box with 12GB of RAM and it's completely liquid cooled and I STILL had it dip below 60FPS every now and then at 1080... you're better off getting the 360 version than running it on a Mac.

Now if only they'd make the Mac port (along with that for The Witcher) available from GOG--!
