Ratchet & Clank are celebrating their tenth anniversary this year with an HD Collection, featuring remastered versions of the PS2 trilogy that started it all. But, if that isn't enough Ratchet or Clank for you, Insomniac Games has announced yet another addition to the long-running platformer franchise.

Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault is coming later this year. While it's only been a few months since the release of All 4 One, FFA takes a different approach. "We've returned to the series' classic feel, camera, controls and weapons, while innovating and giving you a whole new way to play," Insomniac CEO Ted Price said in the announcement.

Like Quest for Booty, FFA won't be a full retail release. Instead, it will be distributed exclusively via the PlayStation Network. There will also be "online features."

Apparently, this game's announcement is not the promised "special surprise" that Insomniac had waiting for fans. Price tells the PlayStation.Blog that said surprise will be "coming in the next couple of weeks." Given E3 is just a few days away, it means you can start speculating... now. (We're guessing FFA will be included in the HD Collection.)
