PlayStation All-Stars likely coming to Vita

Sony has registered a domain for "BattleRoyaleTheGameVita.com," giving pretty clear indication that its franchise crossover is making the trek to its portable system.

The PlayStation Vita was essentially pitched as a portable PS3. While that's not quite accurate in raw technical prowess, Sony and some third-parties have been eager to produce cross-compatible games that can work in tandem between the platforms. So it only makes sense that PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale, Sony's own franchise-blending super group of a game, would fit this mold as well. We've gotten one strong new hint that indicates that's the case.

A Superannuation tweet points to a domain registration for BattleRoyaleTheGameVita.com. It was registered on May 24, to (shock) Sony Computer Entertainment America. The conclusion seems pretty obvious.

This is likely to be part of Sony's revelations during E3, as it makes the case for Vita's upcoming year after a somewhat rocky start. We'll be there to cover the official announcement with any as-yet unknown cross-system features.

I applaud Sony for their 'take your game anywhere' approach to their upcoming PS3 games but given the option, I don't see many people choosing the Vita version over the PS3 one. Unless Sony can devise PS3/Vita game bundles at affordable prices, these kind of decisions will simply cost them more money in the end.

i don't like using my PS3 and they are the only one out there releasing console level games on a handheld.

Not this particular type of game. If it can gain a competitive fanbase similar to how smash brothers did, you will see roaming droves of battle royale nerds and their vitas

I will. I will definitely choose the Vita version over the PS3 version.

It's portable, I can play while watching TV, shitting, waiting for a download, waiting for a compile, etc, etc.

I seriously love the Vita. It's a great piece of hardware.

It seems I may be mistaken then. I still find it hard to believe that people would prefer a Vita experience to a PS3 one but then again, I'm still waiting for the Vita to drop in price.
