Mass Effect 3 extended ending bringing back voice actors
A few of the voice actors of Mass Effect 3 have confirmed they're coming back for more recording sessions, pointing to various appearances in the promised "Extended Cut" ending.
We know that Mass Effect 3 is getting an "extended cut" with a more detailed ending, but BioWare hasn't been totally clear on what that means. We know it will feature more cinematic scenes and personalized outcomes, which could mean just about anything. At least now we know a little more detail, with the revelation that few of the voice actors are returning. If you consider it a spoiler to know which characters are reappearing, you've been warned.
G4 reports that Lance Henriksen, Tricia Helfer, and Raphael Sbarge have confirmed they're working on more voice content for the game. That means that their characters -- Admiral Hackett, EDI, and Kaiden, respectively -- will most likely make an appearance in the new ending. Other cast members might join too, of course, but those are the ones confirmed so far.
While Helfer and Sbarge only confirmed that they're doing more voice work, Henriksen mentioned the ending explicitly. "I just did another session with them," he said. "They were saying there's a little bit of a problem with the abruptness of the ending. So we did a whole series of things to add to the end of the game, to live up to the quality they've been doing."
"Usually, when a guy loses the game, the game shuts down; it's over. It's done," he added. "The players don't like that."
The "Extended Cut" DLC will be coming for free sometime this summer.
