Ion Employee Departures
by Steve Gibson, Aug 02, 1999 6:19pm PDTAnother Ion Storm employee departure to finish up the day for you guys. Today the lead programmer for Daikatana, Steve Ash has handed in his resignation for personal reasons. You can read the John Romero .plan update on the subject, and also here is word from Steve himself (Thanks Rick)
It's true, I am leaving ION, but only for boring personal reasons, I'm afraid. I've had a lot of fun working at ION for the past few months. I got to add a lot of cool tech to DK, and now that that's done, I'm heading back to Cali. It's been cool working with John and everyone else here, and I wish them all the best!

And its not intended to convince anyone of anything. It merely has some comments from Romero about working on level design is all. Just thought it would be interesting to anyone who was curious what he is working on day to day.
Cheers!

I know its hard to believe that the game is going well in this mass culture of negativity, but all I can encourage is to keep an open mind. Check out the story on Avault.. http://www.avault.com/news/displaynews.asp?story=821999-182127. Romero\'s been spending a good deal of time on level design over the past several months. Anyway, you will have the game in hand in a few months now and will be able to judge for yourselves free from the specter of controversy. I hope you will find it to be a truly fun game. In the end, thats what matters right? :)
Thanks again for the clarification Yurik!

That is all. This is not an international conspiracy .. its games! We are making a game, and having fun despite all the abuse -- self-inflicted and otherwise. Now lets all take some Ritalin and have a little fun, eh? :)
woot.
