Rumor: 'Battlefield Premium' service launching soon
by Steve Watts, May 14, 2012 11:45am PDTEA may be planning to launch a "premium service" for Battlefield 3 as early as June, making good on previous comments that detailed EA's desire to enter the subscription market. Battlefield Premium is said to include exclusive items, and additional personalization options.
Battlefieldo reports that an anonymous source has shared details on "Battlefield Premium." The service is reportedly scheduled to launch June 4, and include a premium knife, black dog tag, soldier camos, weapon camos, extra Assignments, and more.
The rumor also claims that the game will get a fifth expansion pack in March of next year, even after the game's "End Game" content this winter.
The move wouldn't be surprising given EA's eagerness to jump into a subscription service. The purported June date would put it at the start of E3 week, which could give EA an extra talking point for its stage presentation. Shacknews has contacted DICE regarding the rumor, and will update as new information becomes available.

It is already bad enough they said they wouldn't sell map packs but instead they are selling "expansions" and they are selling various other items like dogtags and services to boost your rank.
